Introduced in Netherlands by Mathias Leenders & Co. in 1925 as 'Golden Ophelia, Cl.'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1926 as 'Golden Ophelia, Cl.'.

Notes:

I first noted this “Sun Gate” rose in 2005 (as being yellow) and in 2013 remembered it and struck some cuttings. There are delicate hints of pink in the bud; a very big bloom opening wide to show red stamens and ageing to white; and there are a few small prickles. It is growing next to a big wrought-iron gate in the shape of a sun, so the obvious study-name was "Sun Gate".
