Bred by Sir Cecil Hanbury (Italy, 1936).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Sunningdale Nurseries Ltd. in 1954 as 'La Mortola'.
Class:
Species Cross.  
Bloom:
White, blush shading.  Strong fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Large, single (4-8 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Grey-green foliage.  

Height: 18' to 30' (550 to 915cm).  Width: 12' (365cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
