Palatine purchase planted early spring 2017. WAY taller than it was supposed to be, I planted it right against the rock garden intending to put a "taller" one behind it The flowers are a tiny bit darker than other photos I have seen. Towering close to 8 feet on a few of its canes. Zone 5, and was purchased grafted on "hardy multiflora rootstock".
Flowers mostly clusters, large, and anise (myrrh) scented. Palatine does this and it seems to help hardiness, the roots are IMMENSE when they cone bare rooted like that.

I would like to see other's Louis Amades with a closeup of the stems, foliage, hips, sepals, etc. You know that rootstocks have effects on overall growth of plants?

Grown in the shade in a hot/dry area of Northern California, this rose grows as a short climber. Grafted on multilfora.
