Golden Celebration  rose photo courtesy of Seil
Photo Id: 112350

This was one of the last roses mother purchased in the mid 90's. It has been very winter hardy with canes being green nearly to the tips in spring. It can attain heights of over 12 feet. Canes are supple when young and can be bent for pegging to produce greater bloom. Due to the late deep freeze of April 2007 this rose was pruned back to within a foot of the ground and has rebouned well since then. The blooms are about 3 to 4 inches with many petals, tend to nod and last several days. The fragrance is very strong. It does black spot some what, often at the very bottom only.
