We inherited a veritable row of Märchenland shrubs when we bought the house two years ago. (At least after having looked it up in several books and rosariums and also studied the photos at HMF we're convinced they were/are Märchenland.) As the photo shows this rose can easily top 6 feet once it's, as these probably are, three decades old (the house was built in 1977). I wonder why Märchenland is so often described and grown as small bush. It can be an imposing shrub. We kept one and pruned it nearly to the ground two years ago. This spring it's back to 5 by 5 feet, and counting.
