Heat and water stressed, the blooms open medium pink. During normal conditions this plant blooms typical dark red. This plant is not misidentified nor immature, it is identical to the other 20 mature plants of Munstead Wood in my garden! I posted this picture to show the variability possible due to cultural conditions. ~Benaminh
