What does "Hybrid Rugosa" means, when speaking in particular of the John Cabot?

Rugosa is the species name but when it is crossed with other roses it becomes a hybrid.

i would like roses for semi-shady areas

The Hybrid Musk classification is an excellent one for semi shaded areas and comes in different flowers and colours. Also has different shapes as some are tall and some are short.
