Probably a different Flamenco.

Agreed. The Poulsen climber is too recent to have been part of the complex parentage. The ARS registration has a question mark after Flamenco. WE have modified this to McGredy's 1955 floribunda. Thank you for the heads up!

That's the same Flamenco (1950s version) other UK breeders used with Rosa bella, so I assume its correct. They seem to share species hybrids for their work.

It seems that the photos attached here belong to the other rose Big Apple ® (hybrid tea, J&P 2003), certainly when the description is medium red…

Thank you, this happens when rose breeders recycle names...

No this is from the 1983 Big Apple, sourced from Foundation Plant Services at UC Davis

The comments from 2010 were for photos of the pink 'Big Apple' from 2003.

Per Ping Lim, this rose is known as "Lone Star" in Texas. Also, it is named "dragon" because in Chinese culture a dragon symbolizes abundance. And I can vouch for the abundance of blooms this rose produces!

Synonym added, thank you!

what's this Peace-alike rose? It looks like peace, but the leaves are very unique, long thick and glossy

If thats in China, likely either a Chinese or French cultivar. Where is this, to help narrow it down? The foliage looks quite modern, but there are tons of cream HT roses out in the world. Also reminds me of some Harkness and various Netherlands types. Like probably not Caroline Victoria, but somewhat similar bloom color and foliage shape.

Exactly, the leaves are too glossy or "modern" with the old-HT-like big flower

but it's grown with the old HTs such as Double Delight, Peace, Tiffany, Elle, Altesse 75 , Rouge Meilland, Dortmond, Broadway and so on, so it should be a relatively old one....the only "newer" one is Florentina(the red ADR climber from Kordes)

it's in a park in Beijing, and most parks in Beijing only grow the old HTs. Even David Austins are rare, so you can imagine the "list" is not very new...

It has a lot in common with Winter Sun, but the petals seem too wide and their is a lack of that light honey tone. I really don't know.
