Origin:
Bred by Dr. Walter Van Fleet (United States, 1900).
Introduced in United States by Conard & Jones Co. as 'New Century'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, darker center, cream outer petals.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Very large, very double, cluster-flowered bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, bushy, climbing, upright.  Light green, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: 47" to 6'7" (120 to 200cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower, garden, landscape or pillar.  Hardy.  vigorous.
