‘Spring Song’. Modern Shrub. Bred by Reithmuller of Australia and introduced in 1954, this rose is not seen elsewhere. Clusters of small, semi-double, fragrant, rich carmine pink flowers are borne very freely all season on a vigorous, low bush. It produces very large trusses of flowers in the autumn. (Seedling of ‘Gartendirektor Otto Linne’). Zones 6-10.

Patricia Davidson, Darling Downs. Another group I’ve had success with are the Reithmuller roses. Reithmuller was from Toowoomba and a relative of his here is trying to get people on the Downs interested. From cuttings I’ve grown the following. Large trusses of small very double flowers: ...and Spring Song, both pink. The above roses all have Gartendirektor Otto Linne somewhere in their breeding and have the same leaf formation and long arching canes.

‘Bert Mulley’/’Edna Walling’ = Polyantha, rose moyen.

'Spring Song'. Modern, Modern shrub. Deep Pink. Repeat flowering. The fragrant flowers on this low-growing shrub are a rich carmine-pink. They are semi-double and appear freely on this vigorous bush, which has gracefully arching canes. ‘Spring Song’ prefers fertile soil conditions, good drainage and a mulch layer to perform at its best. The variety should not be confused with another using the same name - a salmon hued miniature rose from Ralph Moore. Zones 5-10. Riethmuller, Australia, 1954. Seedling of ‘Gartendirektor Otto Linne’.
