Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, 1937).
Introduced in United States by Bobbink & Atkins in 1951 as 'Frühlingsgold'.
Class:
Hybrid Spinosissima, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Golden-yellow.  Opinions vary fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Arching, dense, upright.  Light green, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: 7' to 8' (215 to 245cm).  Width: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Can be used for garden or hedge.
