"Alice Red" rose Description

Red, lighter reverse. (dark pink blooms in winter have been noted). up to 30 petals. Double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Armed with thorns / prickles, spreading, well-branched. Matte, light green foliage.
Height of 30" to 35" (75 to 90 cm).
Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .
Superb clean green new foliage in late winter.
Alister Clarke's 1931 HT 'Mrs. Harold Brookes' has been discounted because of its new foliage in winter (i.e., May and June)
"Alice Red" found by Alice Dadd, Mullalyup, Western Australia prior to 2001.
"Birte Venske No. 2" found by Patricia Routley in 2003 growing under a window of a vacant house in Manjimup, W.A. (recently purchased by Birte Venske) in 2003. It was a low bush (1m?) at the original site.
