Frank Mason.  Poulsen Roses
The yellow shades are wanting in the Poulsens. Poulsen's Yellow, when well grown, is a very pretty plant, but the colour in the hot sun is fleeting. It is one I could not do without, as the foliage is beautiful, being a dark green which contrasts well with the flowers.

Hybrides de Polyanthas resultant du croisement de Polyanthas avec des Hybrides de Thé ....
Poulsen's Yellow, Mrs W. H. Cutbush X Gottfried Keller; Demi-double, corymbes, parfum intense, jaune, feuillage  brillant, devrait convenir pour l'hybridation.
Book  (1947)  Page(s) 28.

The new Polyantha, Poulsen's Yellow, should be grown by all rosarians. The colour lasts well and it has a delicate beauty of flower and leaf. The buds are especially attractive, and it has the unforgettable fragrance of English cowslips. I never pass this bed but I am a little girl again on my father's farm in Devonshire, with the beauty of an English spring all about me.

Poulsen's Yellow (Hybrid polyantha) has semi-double cupped flowers of pale buttercup-yellow, borne in loose sprays upon vigorous glossy green-leaved plants of moderate height. Poulsen 1938...Moderate growth. Very fragrant....June-Sept. Hardy. Plate 61

p59.  O. R. Fitzhardinge. New Garden, New Roses.
Poulson's Yellow is most cheerful, though in the garden the full-blown ones fade and give the bush a washed-out look.

p113.  Mr. Frank Mason, New Zealand Rose
Poulsen's Yellow is very good indeed, but what a pity it is so prone to black spot! It goes on blooming in spite of this, and as soon as one lot of blooms is over it is ready for another.

p67.  R. Marion Hatton.  New Roses in America
The much heralded Poulsen's Yellow made its appearance, pleasing with its lovely orange buds and beautiful foliage in June, but was disappointing in its faded white open flowers, and the foliage became very rusty before the season was over. However, as the buds are beautiful and it is sweetly fragrant, it will be wanted for cutting in the bud stage.

p91.  John Poulsen, NZ. South Island Roses
Poulsen's Yellow. Good growth and foliage with a very free habit. Deep buttercup yellow buds which, unfortunately, fade to almost white in hot weather. It should make a pretty little shrub.

p103.  S. R. Bird.  Roses and Shows in New Zealand
Poulsen's Yellow is surely rich enough to please the most critical, and some excellent new yellow Polyanthas should come from this source.

p125.  Mr. Frank Mason.  The Newer Roses in New Zealand.
The Poulsen Roses are general favourites wherever Roses are grown, and the newest in Poulsen's Yellow will be very welcome. It is a pure buttercup yellow and the growth is free and branching. As a yellow bedder and a decorative Rose it is hard to beat. The foliage and stems are very pretty in themselves.

New Roses 1939. Poulsen's Yellow (H. Poly. Poulsen 1938) 3. Rich orange yellow buds which open to semi-double, clear yellow flowers which fade to white.  This variety is valued as a new break in polyantha colour and for its pronounced disease resistance.  Further rich yellow and orange shades with similar healthy growth are urgently wanted.  E.
