Wild Blue Yonder took its sweet time getting established in my garden, taking a full three years. It has been worth the wait! This spring we had 5 days of rain in early May, just as many roses were starting the spring flush. A surprising number of roses are now blackspotted, but not this one! It has not only pushed beautiful blooms, but it has also kept all its foliage impeccable. The color of the compressed image is too blue. The blooms open a rich violet purple. 19 May 2009 near Santa Rosa, California.
