Damask, Hybrid Gallica.  

Deep pink.  Mild fragrance.  Single to semi-double bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  

Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).  Width: up to 3' (up to 90cm).

USDA zone 4b through 9b.

This plant was discovered as a random seedling in St. Nicholas, Yorkshire. But I can't resist connecting the name of the rose with an historical event, so... Clement C. Moore's poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas, was published 23 December 1823.
