Origin:
Bred by B. Droog (Netherlands, 1874).
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. in 1888 as 'Ramona'.
Class:
Late Large Flowered.  
Bloom:
Lavender - blue.  Average diameter 7".  Large, single bloom form.  Early summer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: up to 12' (up to 365cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
