Bred by Francisque Morel (France, before 1896).
Class:
Large-flowered, Viticella Group.  
Bloom:
Deep, rich, velvety purple; has four sepals.  Single bloom form.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Dedicated to Edouard François André (July 17, 1840 Bourges - October 25, 1911 Le Croix), French gardener, garden designer and botanist, chief gardener of Paris 1860-1868, editor-in-chief of Revue Horticole 1870-1880.
