Origin:
Bred by Fauré (France, circa 1915).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1928 as 'Coste et Le Brix'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered, Group 2.  
Bloom:
Lilac.  Medium to large, double bloom form.

Notes:
Dedicated to Dieudonné Costes (November 4, 1892 Septfonds, Tarn-et-Garonne - May 18, 1973 Paris) and Joseph Marie Le Brix (February 22, 1899 Baden, Morbihan - September 12, 1931 Ufa, USSR), two French aviators who achieved on October 14/15, 1927 the first non-stop flight over the southern Atlantic Ocean from St. Louis, Sénégal to Natal, Brasil with a Breguet 19 plane. This flight was part of their world tour flights October 10, 1927 - April 14, 1928 (with the exception of the Pacific Ocean, which was crossed by ship).
