The Lower Cape Rose Society is hosting the Yankee District Convention 2000 at the Four Points Sheration Hotel on Route 6 in Eastham, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. Speakers include: Marilyn Wellan, Dave King of Royal River Roses will present a slide show on hardy roses, Dave Simmser, who heads a Cape-wide project on Lyme Disease/Ticks, will present a program on the subject, Roberta Clark will speak on leaf pests, C.L. Fornari, the author of two Cape Cod gardening books, will talk about roses and companion planting, Steve Jones will speak at the Banquet, and there will be a discussion by a panel of notable rosarians -- Frank Benardella, Ed Ward, Lois Fowkes, Marion Forstenhausler, and Louise Coleman.
