Janis Teas, owner of Teas Herbs and Orchids, will be talking about her favorite herbs and how to grow them in your own garden. She will also discuss how the many herbs she grows are used in cooking.

Bob Roenigk, owner of The Vintage Rosery, will explain how to control pests in your garden without using synthetic chemicals. Insects, fungus and bacteria are problems all gardeners deal with at some point in time here in Texas. The Vintage Rosery switched to all organic pest management methods seven years ago. Bob has found it is less expensive, easier and much safer for gardeners and their pets. This seminar is free.

The Open Garden will feature tours of the garden, which will be in full bloom, rooted cuttings of roses and snacks for sale, and a raffle. It is a fund raiser for the maintenance of the garden, and an opportunity for members of the Heritage Rose Group and rose lovers of all types to socialize.
