Go to the home page of the Society's website at riversiderose.org and click on the "50" logo for a schedule of the week's events, including a banquet on the 7th and an ARS-sanctioned rose show on the 10th...both events at the Mission Inn in Riverside, in addition to a fundraiser at Fairmount Park's Rose Garden on the 9th, entitled "A Golden Evening in the Rose Garden". It's part of a weeklong of activities in celebration of the Society's 50th Anniversary.

 

An annual free public celebration of the garden is held from 2 pm until 4:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of May.  Features include music, art contests (adult and youth), tours of the garden, lectures &/or demonstrations of rose gardening topics, door prizes, refreshments, and presentation of service awards for 5 year and 10 year volunteer services to the garden.

A silent auction of old and rare roses of particular virtue. The auction is offered by the Gold Coast Heritage Roses Group benefitting the national heritage roses groups.  The hours of the Celebration are 11 am to 4 pm. There is no admission charge.
