The next general meeting of the Riverside Rose Society will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in the Conference Room of the Botanic Gardens, UC Campus (Riverside) in Riverside, California. The meeting starts at 7:30 P.M. with a business meeting, followed by a speaker.     

Actually, there will be two speakers at the March meeting...RRS member Kathy Swanson, who works for the City of Riverside's Landscaping Dept., and Mr. Louis De La Torre of A and F Growers. Kathy and Louis will be presenting a unique and very successful method for propagating roses. The program will include a Power Point presentation of Kathy's involvement with the City of Riverside's major renovation of historic Victoria Avenue, where over 10,000 roses were propagated to meet the needs of this massive project.    

Refreshments will be available for members and guests to enjoy at their leisure throughout the evening (i.e., just step up to the table and grab yourself a cup of coffee and a brownie!), and there is also a drawing for rose/garden-related items at the conclusion of the program.      

The new President of the Riverside Rose Society is Mrs. David (Lee) Stevens of Riverside. Lee and her new Board of Directors welcome everyone to RRS meetings on the 1st Tuesday of the month, and extend to all an invitation to come join their award-winning rose society.
