'Comte Foy' rose Description

Origin:
Bred by Lecomte (France, before 1827). Introduced in France by Savoureux in circa 1828 as 'Comte Foy'.
Bloom:
Pink, lighter outer petals, violet shading, ages to darker . Mild fragrance. Average diameter 5". Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, globular, quartered bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.
Height: 47" (120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 8b. Prune after flowering is finished.

Notes:
Various authors of the 20th century confused the variegated 'Comte de Foy' with the pink 'Comte de Foy' (also named "de Rouen" for distinguishing.
