Cardinal and Alice Hamilton are two good newish sorts, of beautiful colour, the one a cardinal red and the other a velvety crimson, quite worth growing.

Fleur rouge cramoisi brillant velouté, reflet garance, très grande, demi-pleine, grands pétales, bouton allongé, odorante. Arbuste très vigoureux, très florifère.
Flower bright velvety crimson red, madder reflections, very large, semi-double, large petals, elongated bud, fragrant. Shrub very vigorous, very floriferous.
