Ethelyn Emery Keays was born 1871 in Ohio. During the time she lived at "Creek Side" in Calvert County, Maryland (1928-1948), she became fascinated with OGRs, researched and published. Among her publications were the book Old Roses and numerous articles in The American Rose Annual.
