Dara is one of the most tender roses we have. We got her in 1999 and she manages to survive. Spring growth is late and slow. 2 or 3 canes is all she ever throws. Dara is planted between Eclipse and Ruffles in a prime location. Those 2 do very well so it isn't that she is planted in a bad spot. Dara usually manages to give us a half dozen blooms that have very little fragrance. The blooms do look pretty good. Foliage is sparse and usually wrinkled, not very attractive. She gets about 3 feet tall by the end of the season. That is it, a couple canes 3 feet tall with few laterals.
Blackspot is not a problem here. Dara will get powdery mildew if conditions are right.

Do you know where I can buy a Dara rose? I would like to give a Dara rose to a close friend who just lost his sister Dara.
