I tried gathering as many of the true Damask Perpetuals as I could, and 'Delambre' was one of them. This one isn't mentioned much, but I wondered why a Damask Perpetual would be only "mildly scented", when the others are so fragrant. Well, I can attest that this rose is just as fragrant as my 'Rose du Roi -- original', "Pickering Four Seasons", 'Blanc de Vibert', and 'Indigo'. It's slightly more fragrant than my 'Marbree' and 'Portlandica', which are also what I'd call more than "mildly scented". I think that, perhaps, writers expect too much of a rose classed as a Damask of any sort, and anything less than "wow!" is deemed "mildly scented".

:-)
