I'm looking to identify a plant which was similar in some ways to Kordes' 'Rosenresli' and had deep pink, orange-tinged blooms but not Rosenresli's overhanging bushy growth. The blooms were held upright and it wasn't really a cluster-flowered plant but each bloom was atop a very slim but stiff 5-7 inch light green peduncle which were mostly solitary but also in groups of 2 or 3 and these at regular 8 inch intervals along a very prickly diagonal branch. The 4 inch blooms also differed from Rosenresli in that they never flattened out into a ruffled form but maintained a lantern-shaped, spiral with rolled back petals which were colourfast and weather-resistant.
The mature, woody 5-foot plant was growing in South Norfolk, England in 2014 and was held against a South-facing shed by a single wire. All of the coral-pink buds opened up in the vase and lasted 5-8 days. What set this one apart was not really the colour but the 'buoyant' fragrance of strawberries, red apple with slight mango and lime notes emitted by just 2 blooms (when in a vase of water) which on a sunny morning, could be detected from two rooms away, behind a closed door and halfway up a staircase.
