We got Eclipse in 1997 and since yellow isn't one of my favorite colors, I tend to take it for granted. Eclipse has been a good rose for us. It is planted next to Deb's Rio Samba and RS gets the lion's share of attention in that area. Thinking back, Eclipse just seems to do its job with little fanfare. We get 25 - 40 blooms per flush and turnaround time is about 6 weeks. Blooms do open fast. Almost all our yellows do. Fragrance is mild.

Eclipse gets 4 feet tall x 3 feet wide for us. Foliage is usually thick and attractive. Foliage color does look good with the blooms. Eclipse is not cane hardy. It gets through winter here fine. Spring growth usually starts a bit late here. That can be a good thing. Hard May frosts can hit early growers pretty bad. Growth is steady and first blooms are usually midpack among our roses.

Blackspot is not a problem here. Eclipse will get powdery mildew pretty bad if conditions are right and it gets neglected.

Eclipse has been growing for me, about eight years. It is a sturdy, winter hardy yellow.
Repeat bloom is in reasonable intervals. I've not have many problems with disease on this rose.

Purchased this rose from Home Depot in August 2005. Still a new rose to me, but it has been a very vigorous grower. Blooms were initially immature in development, but are more full now-buds start out a rich yellow then open to creamy yellow. Very nice.--A 2007 update--Eclipse turned out to be a taller than wide rose in my garden, with fantastic scent and decent blooming--however, it was a huge BS magnet and was regrettfully replaced with more resistant OGRs.
