I am wondering if anyone can tell me what specific differences there are between the American Pillar and Paul's Carmine Pillar. I have a large pillar rose growing in the garden that I preserve and am trying to determine whether or not it is the original Paul's planted one hundred years ago. Thanks!

Not knowing either rose really well...it does seem as if Paul's Carmine Pillar lacked the white eye of American Pillar. I don't know how you'd ID it from the present information. It's called variously a Hybrid China, a Cllimbing Hybrid Tea and a Multiflora. That covers a lot of ground!
