Re. possible identity as 'Cascadia', the 1950-51 Roses of Yesterday/ The Lester Rose Gardens catalog, p. 10, description of 'Cascadia' says "produces in fine panicles of one inch white flowers, showing green stamens,..." 'Darlow's Enigma' has has yellow stamens. The catalog description goes on to say that it was "One of the bright sparkling notes in our little display garden which fronts the Lester cottage."

"Darlow's Enigma" produces yellow buds opening white. It is not pink.

Darlow obtained it from "a lady in the Willamette Valley" and was selling it in his Old Rose Garden nursery near Seattle as R. moschata 'Plena' (based on the illustration in Redoute) until I showed him a flowering sprig of R. moschata from my garden. Soon after he was listing it for sale as "Darlow's Enigma". I think this predates the listing by Heirloom Roses.
