Mr. S. J. Bisdee.  Tasmanian Notes.
Lesley Dudley is a shapely bloom, cream with a buffy-coloured centre. There is very little pink to be seen in it. It has been rather susceptible to mildew here.
Book  (1944)  Page(s) 69.

Proof of the Pudding. 'Lesley Dudley' HT. (McGredy, 1932) A.R.A. 1933. Did not appeal to Ontario, although it has some undoubted merit. McGinnes found it beautiful and promising and rates it as one of the loveliest of all roses, comparing it to a perfect 'Ophelia' in delicate shades of flesh, orange, and lavender.
Website/Catalog  (1934)  Page(s) 40.

New Roses 1933.  Lesley Dudley HT. (S. McGredy & Son 1932) F. 3. A semi-double variety, opening very quickly.  In the bud stage the colour is almost claret red, but fades to salmon pink.  This variety will probably do better in a cooler climate.
Book  (1933)  Page(s) 53.

Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1933.
Lesley Dudley (McGredy) is a very variable variety and somewhat difficult to describe.   The bloom opens with inner face of petal claret red with carmine edges, fading to soft salmon, while on the reverse side the colour is old rose. It is an attractive variety built up by thirty petals, but like most of the Pernetiana offspring, the colours fade rather quickly.
Website/Catalog  (1933)  Page(s) 42.
