Neville Chamberlain Description... The british Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was one of the few politicians who did anything to try to save Belgium from being overrun by the Nazis, so it is fitting that this rose should have been dedicated to him by Belgium's leading rosarian, Louis Lens, in 1940... softest salmon pink, with a hint of orange at the centre... A rose for cool climates, it won the Portland gold medal in 1944...

R. Marion Hatton.  An American Review of the New Roses
The Belgian Rose that Lens named Neville Chamberlain has had some good reports, but it will have to improve this year to find a place. Plants were very ordinary, and the four-inch flowers of light peachy pink lost their colour quickly. There were 30 petals and a fruity fragrance. It is from Charles P. Kilham and Mrs. Sam McGredy.
