James Mason Height and vigour from 'Scharlachglut' and texture of petals and scent from 'Tuscany Superb'. Apart from 'Scharlachglut', which was introduced in 1952, it is the only Gallica to be raised this century. [Note: John Scarman has classed a number of his introductions as Gallicas as well.]
