Origin:
Bred by Antoine Levet (père) (France, 1869).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Belle Lyonnaise'.

Bloom:
Light yellow, lighter reverse, salmon-yellow shading, ages to cream .  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Glossy, light green foliage.  

Height: 10' (305cm).  Width: 6' (185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  Prune lightly or not at all.

Notes:
Also a Hybrid Perpetual by this name. Rosenlexikon points out a similarity to 'Grossherzogin Luise von Baden'.
