The floral magazine; comprising figures and descriptions of popular garden flowers. new ser. v.1 (1872):
PLATE 10.
ROSE—LORD ELDON.
We are informed by Messrs. Paul and Son, of Cheshunt, into whose hands the stock has passed, that Lord Eldon was raised from seed by Mr. Coppin, of Shirley, near Croydon, from Cloth of Gold Noisette, and resembles its parent in habit and constitution, but is a freer bloomer.

Is the indication for zones correct?

6b through to 5b. I doubt it. I think most noisettes might like it 7b and warmer.
Until we hear further, I've changed the Zone to the default of 6b - 9b.
Thanks Jay-Jay

Hi, can anyone tell me the height on a tea-noisette Earl of Eldon? It says it is a climber, but one source looks like it is on the small side. Thanks for your help! Leslie
