Although a very beautiful and fragrant tea, this rose sold by us and obtained from Mottisfont is obviously wrongly attributed. It is unique though, not matching anything else we grow.

John, why do you think the Mottisfont rose is wrongly named? The description in Max Singer seems to be close enough. It would be wonderful if you have found an early print of it or of the 'real' cultivar. Best, Charles

It is interesting to note that all five photos of 'Abricote', with the one exception (perhaps) of Sergio Scudu's, are of the same Mottisfont clone.

In Max Singer: “Fleur grande, pleine, forme decoupe; coloris jaune cuir, au centre rose abricot avec reflet plus jaunatre; arbuste vigoureux, florifere.” Citation 1885.
