From the 1984 ARS Annual Proof of Pudding-----"The end of the road is in sight. Fred Winzel of Buckeye reports all 6 of his reporters will shovel prune THIS YEAR. Poor form, uneven color, blooms open too fast. Hard to find something nice to say. 5 districts, 14 reporters, 18 plants. 5.9/5.3"...............for some reason I never saw this rose or this review and I had to laugh. And when I saw the parents were Vienna Charm and Doreen I really DID laugh. And then smiled. Shocked and surprised there is a photo of this one on here.

Back in the 1940s, Ralph Moore released a deep red-purple HT he called Purple Heart. One of the POP responders wrote something like, "did the only decent thing it could, it died!" You know, I've grown a number of "those"!
