I'm writing to second the remarks attached to the photo from Donald's Roses Garden; it may help to have comments in English as well. My rose is the same one as in that photograph and is quite odd. The flower is finely variegated, lilac-pink on a pale-pink ground, full, with much-notched petals. The foliage is likewise strange: wrinkled and bullous. Despite its peculiar appearance the plant appears healthy; and I would characterize it as interesting and not ugly: worth growing for pleasure in other words. I got my rose grafted from La Campanella (Italy) in fall 2007. This nursery got a lot of its Gallicas from Joyaux's collection but I don't know if this is one of them: the catalog doesn't specify.
