Moss and Provence Roses.
Their beautiful buds and delicious fragrance render these great favourites, and deservedly so.
Pruning.—These should be slightly pruned. Remove all old wood, thin out some of the past season's shoots where overcrowded, shorten the laterals of those remaining, and cut back the young growths to about six eyes. Prune in February or March.

Anni Welter (mousseux). Obt[enteur]. N. Welter. -- Fleur rose foncé pur, très grande, bien pleine, odorante.
Arbuste vigoureux, bien moussu, florifere, rustique. Issu de Cristata x La France.

The following roses were introduced into commerce in the autumn of 1906:
Anni Welter (moss). Breeder N. Welter. -- Flower is a pure, deep rose color, very large, quite full, fragrant.
Shrub is vigorous, well mossed, floriferous, rustic. Issue of Cristata x La France.
