Alba Roses....'Sappho' (England, before 1817) Growth habit: strong, upright, later arching, up to 2.50 m, hooked prickles, the young shoots bluishly powdery blue. Foliage: grey green, leaflets sharply incised, ovate, 5-7. Flowerrs: in clusters, large, lightly full, center sometimes with stunted petals, circle of stamens, numerous ellipsoid red hips. Colour: pure white. Scent: good, sweet. Very similar to Rosa x alba 'Semiplena'....
