Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, 1930).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1931 as 'William Orr'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson, darker highlights, lighter reverse.  Crimson. Maroon-red. Sometimes blunted center and sometimes flat. 3-4 shoots from the same eye.  Moderate, damask fragrance.  34 to 45 petals.  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, dense, upright, well-branched.  Light green foliage.  

Height: 4' (120cm).  Width: 5' (150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Prefers cool sites..  rain tolerant.  Resist the urge to prune this rose too heavily -- it doesn't like it!.
