Could it be that Rosa pimpinellifolia plena and Rosa spinosissima plena are the same? See both rose in HMF.

It is possible and very hard to determine, as the French name is cited only in Vibert's catalogs from the early 1800s. The naming of Hybrid Spinosissimas is a terrible mess.

A friend in Western Australia is seeking this rose. Can anybody help with a cutting, or a supplier’s name?

In Finland we call this rose Midsummer day's rose and in Sweden they call it Finland's white rose. All most every carden in Finland is this rose.

We have this rose from seeds in Arborétum Borová hora Rosarium, flowers are semidoble and also set black hips. But there are more clones of this variety.
