Notes on New Roses.
Polyantha roses continue to increase in favor and new ones come to the front continually. [...] The Journal des Roses announces that Soupert and Notting have successfully raised several fragrant flowered varieties, that of four varieties obtained by crossing the well-known polyantha Mignonette with the tea scented Marquise de Viviens three come with scented flowers.
The fragrant ones are... Princesse Josephine de Flandres, which has rose colored flowers with yellowish base.

Fragrant Polyantha Roses.
It is announced by the Journal des Roses that Soupert & Notting have succeeded in raising several varieties of dwarf polyantha roses, the flowers of which are fragrant.  Four varieties were secured by crossing the polyantha Mignonette and the tea-scented Marquise de Viviens, and three are described as fragrant...
Princesse Josephine de Flandre, of dwarf habit, the flowers of a bright rose color, with a salmon-yellow base, and highly fragrant.

Rosiers Nouveaux pour 1888
L'établissement Soupert et Notting, de Luxembourg (Grand-Duché), annonce la mise en vente de quatre variétés de roses Polyantha, qui seront livrées au commerce le 1er mai prochain.  En voici la nomenclature avec les descriptions des obtenteurs:
Princesse Joséphine de Flandre. — Arbuste nain; fleur petite, pleine; coloris rose incarnat sur fond jaune saumoné.  Très odorante.
Ces quatre variétés sont issues de Mignonnette X Marquise de Vivens.
