marie d'orléans and souvenir d'auguste legros from loubert seem to be the same variety. same blossoms, sharp an slender prickles, mostly 3 leaflets of rounded eliptical shape with pronounced short tip are caracteristic.

souvenir d'auguste legros of this source is definitively not fiery-red with crimson shades.
ketten frères in their 1893/94 catalogue describe it as
' rouge feu, mélangé de cramoisi foncé, grande, pleine, pédoncule ferme, bouton allongé, arbuste vigoureux, érigé. genre de "thérèse levet" '
- which it is clearly not.

In California, Marie d'Orleans is very similar, and at time indistinguishable, from Mme Lambard. But in hot weather, the petals quill and roll up, making the form unique.

indeed.
marie d'orléans/loubert and mme lambard/frenchtearoses are sitting here right side by side and can show great similarities, mme lambard being more colourful with copper and apricot tones, by contrast.
souvenir d'auguste legros should be much different.

I take this discussion and give my contribution, I confirm that the petals in warm weather tend to arrotolardi very strongly, giving the flower a very starry add that the colors are very bright and more determined than the first bloom of May.
thanks
