I am inspired by Peter Cox’s fine book to plant one more rose. I think it will be Alister Clark’s Princeps a single scarlet climber introduced in 1942.

‘Princeps’. Modern, large-Flowered climber, medium red. This climbing rose bears its very large red flowers throughout summer. They have only a slight fragrance. It is most suitable for growing on pillars and low fences. Zones 4-9. Clark, Australia, 1942. Parentage unknown.
