Eugene Furst 2004 - Zone 5 Mid-MI semi-shade garden - reaching for the sky! I had hoped for a climber, but with mostly shade (which kept the blooms from burning) it never filled out as well as I had hoped. I eventually began to self-peg the rose, or otherwise horizontally train it, and the bloom productivity jumped!

Eugene Furst 2004 - Zone 5 Mid-MI semi-shade garden. Very representative of bloom shape. This was about 2.5 inches at this point and would gain another inch when fully open.

Eugene Furst 2004 - Zone 5 Mid-MI semi-shade garden -- aglow in the mid-afternoon sunlight. The fragrance would drift through the yard during this time.
