Book (1972) p33 In 1963 Woman’s Day launched an Australia-wide competition by an Australian-raised rose….. The competition also produced the beautiful Hybrid tea rose ‘Madge Elliot’ raised by Dr. Roger Darvall of Carlingford, Sydney, who withdrew his entry because of a technicality. ‘Madge Elliot is a delicate shade of apricot pink.

Pastel pink with apricot center, medium, full, double blooms borne singly and several together on long, strong stems. Very good lasting quality; petals drop off cleanly. Slight fragrance. Abundant, leathery, dark green foliage. Reddish brown, disease resistant bark with few thorns. Vigorous, upright growth. Profuse continuous blooming. * [Footnote: ‘Madge Elliott’ by C.
