Your support of HelpMeFind is urgently needed. HelpMeFind, like all websites, needs funding to survive. We have set a premium-membership yearly subscription amount as low as possible to make user-community funding viable.

We are grateful to the many members who have signed up so far, but the number of premium-membership members remains too small for us to sustain the current support and development level. If you value HelpMeFind and want to see it continue we need your support too.

Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..

We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.

Don Sheppard. Final Analysis 1989-90
Freegold McGredy 1983. MACfrego ('Penelope Keith' in the UK). ('Sea Spray' x 'Dorola'); bright bronze yellow; 23 reports; 27 bushes; 1-5 years; 80cm; 7.0 rating. a taller growing garden mini, giving largish bright breezy blooms, in clusters, with little fade, to brighten up the garden. Health is excellent. Repeat, however, tends to be a little slow. Worthwhile for garden colour.
Book  (1989)  Page(s) 106.

Don Sheppard. Review of Newer Roses for 1988-89 Season
Free Gold MACfreego ('Penelope Keith' in the UK); McGredy 1983 ('Sea Spray' x 'Dorola'); bronze yellow; 4 reports; 4 bushes; 1-3 years; 60cm; 7.0 rating. Largish, loose blooms of HT type, perhaps best in spring. Some fading and repeat is slowish. The plant is healthy and recommended by all reporters.

p62 [photo] Freegold (also known as ‘Penelope Keith’). 1984. ‘Seaspray’ x ‘Dorola’. Bronzy yellow well-shaped blooms a little too big for the show bench. Strong grower and could be considered a patio rose. My favourite yellow. Picks well.

Don Sheppard. Review of Newer Roses for 1987-88 Season
Freegold. MACfreego. McGredy 1987; bright bronzy yellow; 3 reports; 3 bushes; 2 years; 50cm; 7.3 rating. Kaitaia reports a healthy attractive mini in all respects. Bay of Plenty says the blooms come in flushes, repeat is sluggish, the bush is vigorous and well foliaged. Taranaki says the colour does not fade but they wish the stamens did not brown off quite so quickly. A good mini.
