Frühlingsschnee Kordes, Germany, 1954. 'Golden Glow' x Rosa pimpinellifolia 'Grandiflora'. This has not developed strongly with me; the foliage is of a slightly greyish tinge, borne freely on an arching branches. Beautifully scrolled buds of creamy yellow open to large, loosely semi-double, nearly white flowers. Fragrant. 5 feet

In the 1930s, Kordes produced the lovely large shrubs which share the prefix 'Frühlings' (spring) by crossing the 'Burnet Rose' with Hybrid Teas. All do well on sandy soils and in cold gardens where most roses grow poorly.
